AAA's windshield cost guide puts chip and small-crack repair at $50 to $150 and a full windshield replacement at $250 to $1,500 or more. Its breakdown by job type lists small chips at $60 to $100 and crack repairs at $100 to $150. AAA's 2023 study of ADAS repair costs found that ADAS parts and calibration added an average of $360 to a windshield replacement, out of an average total of $1,439.78.
What moves the price
- AAA notes that make and model drive the cost, and glass for less common cars costs more to get.
- If a camera looks through your windshield, calibration is part of the job.
- OEM glass costs more than aftermarket. AAA says OEM or OEM-equivalent glass matters most on cars with cameras and sensors.
- Rain sensors, heated wiper areas, acoustic layers and head-up display glass all raise the price of the part.
